Thirteen Plants

Underneath the bough and leaf
Filtered light through redwood tree
Beneath water condensation beads
Thirteen plants all grown from seed

In the morning light
And the misty calm
I trod up with my guitar
And sing my little plant a psalm
And sometimes when the rain fall
I come and beat my drum
And play the tempo strong
So my little plant can feel the rhythm
And when the sun shines so strong
I sing a Bob Marley tune
So that my little plant can feel
Get so strong and start to bloom

I found a perfect nook
Way down in the little brook
I bring my horticulture book
Because I know this place that no one will look
Because there is no one around
I can’t even hear any sound
That’s where I bury my irrigation tube there underneath the ground
On the hillside in the shady grove
I plant my seeds and no one will know

Underneath the plants and tree
Filtered light through redwood tree
Beneath water condensation beads
Thirteen plants all grown from seed

Don’t tell the police I don’t want them to find this piece
This little plot of land where I’m coming from
Little plant grow strong come and stretch out long
I sit chanting along and I’ll keep singing your song
Where this plant will go authority they will not know
Keep the vibe with the vital youth so you can keep us strong
The energy in the herb is green and it comes on the scene
From the redwood forest where the people there are never acting mean

The energy in the morning light
And the misty calm
I go up with my guitar
To sing my little plant a psalm
In the forest light
Where you feel the vibes
My little plant will stay alive!
